Not sure what the problem is here. I had Penumbra up and running on my crunchbang box before.
I recently had to do a fresh OS install and tried to run the penumbra installer script I had backed up. Bad checksum, no problem, so I re-downloaded the installer script, different bad checksum, so I just downloaded the script AGAIN and different bad checksum. Am I missing something?

here's a printout of the most recent attempt, if this can tell you anything:

$ ./penumbra_collection_1.1.sh
Verifying archive integrity...Error in MD5 checksums: 40ead9cb4af077552173cc4cc9fa0259 is different from 57eb679e0a48b2b3a652b2199b049653

$ md5sum penumbra_collection_1.1.sh
98fc72f29b661a6291810d79ca1965ca penumbra_collection_1.1.sh

???

the MD5 for the Penumbra Collection 1.1 installer itself is d9ae143516e0873f3d26c4c3fd6b9df1

The "Verifying MD5" when you run the installer is the md5 of the contents minus the "kick-start" shell code. (from the shar archive the installer is wrapped in).

So, it looks like you have a corrupted installer. Are you downloading it from the Frictional store download page? Also what program are you using to download the game with?
