Hi everyone, I have a problem while playing Amnesia on my laptop... I completed the demo in my other computer and it was incredible! So I wanted to play it again but in my laptop. So I re-downloaded it, I installed it, and when I started the game, I could see all the graphics black, I can only see one light, and almost nothing more. Here's a screenshot:

I have an Nvidia Geforce 8600m GT, and I think it can handle the game easly...
Maybe is because I need to update the videocard drivers, but where can I get the laptop ones? It's what I hate from laptops, you need different drivers.... Can someone help me find the laptop drivers? Just in case I'll say I have an Acer Aspire 5920G

I hope you guys can help me! Big Grin

I'll tell you later if this worked or not, thanks!
WTH? I downloaded those new drivers, installed them, restarted PC, but after restart, the colors where at 4 bit! and a crappy resolution! I couldn't change them nor nothing... so I installed back my old drivers...
Any Suggestions? :S Maybe I need to do something in the Nvidia control Panel...
(BTW I have Win XP)
Your graphics isnt black. Your gamma/ brightness is just really really low.
I edited the pic a bit and i can see other things when increased brightness. Just set your gamma/brightness alot higher.

Heres a pic.

This means you didnt install the new drivers correctly.
btw if installing new drivers or putting gamma/brightness higher doesnt work.

Try this compatibility test out

Report back if everythings good or if some frames didnt render correctly.

No, it's not a gamma problem. Things are missing.

I alredy tried that and I see the same. Ermm.... those are still pitch black graphics... You can still see the same, but with more power, also the smoke down there, but the texture of the walls and other thinngs are missing!
And also, I think I installed the drivers well... just click, let them install, reboot, and there you go... what wrong could I have done? O_O

Do the compatibility test and see if everythings good. IF everythings good then id suggest properly installing new drivers. Uninstall the old drivers within windows first, then download driver cleaner, once finished. Reboot into safemode and use drivercleaner to erase all traces of old video card drivers. After that , boot up into windows and install new drivers. Make sure you pick the correct one for your Vc. Dont get the desktop 8600gt drivers, u need the Mobility ones.

So it does that even in the compability test?. Might be a driver or hardware problem then. The devs will have to help you on this one.
Or it might just be the fact that 8600 GT is a shit card.

No somethings just definitly not working right. I have the Ati equivalent of that video card which is the Asus Mobility Radeon HD2600 Gddr3( Oc'd). And it runs the game good. So if my card can run this game fine the 8600m gt shoudnt have problems with performance.
lol, no, this VC is fine, I can run CoD Mw2 con High Graphics at 30-40 fps with 2 GB RAM...

I did the test, I still see things black, but the sky I see it Ok..
I'm redownloading my videocard drivers but this time on my language (spanish) maybe that influences, because I have the OS in Spanish, and I installed the other vc drivers in English...
