As promised we have created another video diary, this time demonstrating the enemies interaction with the player and the environment.

You can find download links in the media section on the official Penumbra: Overture website or use any of these to view directly in the browser.

GameTrailers.com, YouTube.com, video.Google.com

The development is coming along according to plan, last week we finished a major milestone when we made the game playable from start to finish. This means that the game is more or less done and now we enter the last period of adding details, tweaking and above all... testing. We are all quite excited as we feel the goal that we have worked towards since August 2006 is getting quite close!
you got a typo in the "penumbra. overture" website link, you wrote a _ instead of a -.
watching the video now.

watched it now. cool stuff!
my only complaint, tho, is that - even tho it's a torrent which means you wouldn't have to fear bandwidth limitations - the video quality of the video is quite low.

i'm really looking forward to playing this!
when can we pre-order? Big Grin
Fixed the typo Smile

There should be a HD version somewhere, hopefully there will be one on gametrailers.com later today at least.
Isn't this like the 3rd video diary?(Physics, puzzles, now monsters)

There were a few glitches with the wolve, when it howled it entered slightly into the wall. And are there something wrong with these wolves or something? For being "wild animals trying to kill you" they don't even look to see if any danger is coming when they eat. Doesn't the dog family have faily good smell?

But that was interesting, the game seems really bright for me.. (But you might have turned the generator on which turned lights on or something)
The brightness is boosted in the video so that it's easy to see what's going on. When actually playing it is darker!

Well I doubt it they are exactly normal wolves.

Yeah, it looked a bit too bright to me too. The video was interesting though.
well the blue thing round you is to show that you are hidden i guess? Smile
oh btw, there was a typo in the link for the gametrailers link but i fixed it Smile
The blue thing I think is for you should start getting ready to hide, (I'm not sure about this)because if you can see someone, give them the same equipment your using and they can see you.

Hey, you know I just noticed upon rewatching that it appears you're having trouble getting the AI to see you without shining a flashlight in its face. It seemed that in order for the dog to see the meat you had to shine a light on it, too... I know you say the dog was reacting to the sound, but then why the flashlight?

I'm guessing these issues will all get resolved, though, sooner or later so no sweat. Wink

A dog is not going to look around first to see where the meat came from. They're not smart like that. Any dog is going to tear into the meat right away no questions asked. They're ravenous, simple creatures.
