Lost my last cogwheel...what to do

Ok so I was collecting my last cogwheel for the elevator and accidentally threw the cogwheel into the pipes above me and it vanshised...for good. Lmfao. Anyways is there anyway I can fix this? Duplicate or can it respawn?

no, exit the current game, go to main menu and...load an earlier save game.

*finds the Load Game button for the first time.* Huh. I find it mysterious that me and two others have completely missed the existence of this button. Maybe it's because the game normally manages that.
