They will be giving out Steam codes as requested after release, but if you preordered from their store, when it comes out, you will log in at http://shelf.frictionalgames.com/ with your email address and order number to download it.

You login on shelf to get the Steam key too. The key is not there yet but will be later when about to release the game.

Jens, I also have a question regarding the pre-order keys. When the game is released, are you given the choice of either a stand-alone copy of the game or a Steam version? The way I understood it, retail versions would be available to pre-order unless you wanted a digital version in which case Steam licenses would be available too. Now that you say "to get the Steam key too" I'm slightly confused. Are perhaps Steam keys handed out in addition to stand-alone digital versions?

There are no retail copies available at all for pre-orders, if you mean boxed versions of the game.

It will be digital download only for all pre-orders. All pre-orders placed in the frictional games store get access to windows, mac and linux + steam activation key, all which will be available at shelf.frictionalgames.com.

Oh okay, but I'm still not sure whether or not stand-alone digital copies are available. Is Steam the only medium this game is being released on digitally?
