That's why I made the "Dump Archive" feature, which will also create a .zip file for authors to upload with the installer, meant for Linux/Mac users.

What you could do is request the developer of your Anti-Virus software to fix their software, or see if you've got a Hysterical setting enabled somewhere.

Uh...I can't get the installer to work.

I bought my game and downloaded it through Steam. I'm running on Windows 7, 64-bit. My Amnesia folder is in the x86 Program Files folder.

When I run the installer, it gives me an error saying:

*Error! Please create a Custome Story before trying to create an installer.*

Don't I need to install it first to create a custom story..?

The program is just for creating an exe file that installs the things you've already created. You need the dev tools and notepad to actually make mods. This just makes installing those mods on other computers more convenient than opening up the game folder and dragging certain files to certain places.

I need help. Im trying to install the survival map i downloaded from mediafire, but it turns up as a RAR file. I downloaded winrar and that gave me some more options, but now its telling me that i need something to open a cgf and hps but i dont know what those are. I've used the 'search online' feature with windows but for the hps it has no results. Any information would help me greatly because I am stuck.

You have to place the folder that's inside the RAR, inside the custom_stories folder in your Amnesia game folder.
