Hey dude what was The Brave Little Abacus' genre? If it's Folk punk, I think I'm getting seeped in here.

they're twinkly emo with a lot of indie rock and pop punk influence

if you especially like them you should check snowing next because they're probably the most similar band to them

So I was browsing YouTube, when I came across a comment regarding In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The comment is as follows:

"I just love how people on internet dig up some forgotten piece of shit and then make it look like a shining diamond."

Now normally I would just dismiss this as some jack off that has nothing better to do with their life than trash beloved music; but that's when I noticed the person's username: googolplex74.

work in progress but oh well, I finally decided to try making a chiptune, or atleast something in that chiptune/8bit style, so I decided to do what they loved doing in the 90's but never do today - make Electronical Blues

That's not bad. A little monotonous but definitely a good start. What did you use to make this?

RE: Music Discussion thread - PutraenusAlivius - 08-04-2013

EDIT: I already got The Brave Little Abacus, At The Drive-In, Andrew Jackson Jihad, The Taxpayers, and Titus Andronicus.

Thanks, just FL Studio with the 3osc and then an external Magical8Bit plugin.

Here's a new one I've made, this one I've actually finished, my first finished one.

This one has much more variation, and a completely different feel to it. I must have been thinking about Pokemon when I wrote it, cause a lot of parts are very similar to the music in Pokemon.

That's cool. I think the themes could have been much stronger and the modulations a little more tactfully handled but I like a lot of the ideas.
