Just using White Night as an example:
28 000 thread views compared to 75 000 MODDB views. The more you use MODDB, the more active the Amnesia mod section is and the more visitors there will be. You can create very nice presentations of the project, the progress and the final release (just look at White Night).

I'm sorry to praise White Night so much, but also linked to the attention that the TC has received is because there has been articles, interviews and previews of it. Which shows the importance of letting people know about what you are creating goes far beyond posting a single thread in an obscure forum run by a small unknown game developer Smile

Okay, nevermind about my old question, but new question: Are the topics from the showcase forum going to be moved to the new sub-forums? If not, can we report our topics so that they may be moved?

Yes, I don't want, that my Custom Story Thread died. Undecided

Same question as my (or your) computer asked!

This is awesome. I prefer to use the forums, but i'm adaptable. Showcase was becoming a total mess. Five new "demos" each week streaming in was pushing back "guldkornen" (the really good ones) as we say in swedish. I'm all for creativity and new stories, the problem was that it created tainted ratio of exposure, where really good stories quickly ended up a long way back on the forum. Moddb doesn't suffer from above described issues though.

I'm on my phone right now so im unaware im i as a user can help you mods sort my old threads. That would help you guys i guess.

I opened it so that if you really want to you can post there and we will every now and then move old threads from it to correct places. For new threads we will be more aggressive in moving them to correct place if posting stuff in showcase that is not completed work or off-topic.

Thanks Jens.

I dunno, it makes sense to me: when you're developing a story you post a thread in the development discussion section, and when development is complete you make a nice new thread in the Showcase section, where people can comment on it etc. This way the Showcase is left uncluttered, and people still get a place to display their WIPs.

I dunno how it was when the Showcase was locked, but how it is now shouldn't be a problem (as far as I'm aware of). If people start cluttering the showcase again, it can just be locked again. Personally I like this forum change a lot; this community is becoming so active that everything just got too cluttered.
