The new way of organizing the forums is best. By separating 1 forum in about 5, it becomes a lot easier to find anything because the scope of each forum is reduced.
I personally don't like moddb, but I have personal reasons for that. You can still show your work in showcase as long as it has playable content. Posting useless things in there has no point.
As Jens said, let's give the change a chance.
Maybe in the future when everything is setup alright, with only what's supposed to be on showcase, FG's web developers can create some sort special threads in the Showcase forum where you can place your mods in asimilar way to Moddb.
