RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - plutomaniac - 12-30-2011 I need to know the exact BSOD error. Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and give me the latest file from there to examine it and tell you what problem you have. RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - RawkBandMan - 12-30-2011 I just BSOD again (trying it again by accident) and I wrote down the code if that would work? STOP 0x0000008E(0xC0000005, 0X8452B078, 0XaEC99B54, 0x00000000) Defected RAM? What's that supposed to mean? RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - Your Computer - 12-30-2011 I wouldn't say the RAM is defective, or else i'd expect you to be crashing in just about everything, not just Amnesia. Nevertheless, i wouldn't entirely disregard hardware failure. My guess is Amnesia is trying to access a system file that got corrupted somehow. You could probably fix it with a restore point some time before the date this all occurred. If the blue screen starts to "migrate" into other programs, then i'd start considering hardware failure. RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - Fomzo - 12-30-2011 If nothing helps, reinstall the system I had to to that quite recently in order to banish the YouTube blue screens... RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - RawkBandMan - 12-30-2011 Amnesia is the ONLY thing that is crashing. I've tested most of my programs on my PC, and I haven't had problems with them. Also, this is a old PC (Built by Dell (Dell... What a piece of-) in like 2005, so it's a wonder it can run anything!) so I've been thinking of buying a new one, that isn't nescessarily a gaming PC, but will be able to run my games that I have at decent FPS (With Decent, I qualify 40 FPS and above Decent) and at medium settings. I don't expect to get it soon, (maybe in a year or so) so until then, I guess I could live with no Amnesia... I still have a plentiful of other games to play. As for reinstalling my PC, I would have to wait until something like a HDD failure or something like that for a restore to happen, because one program isn't enough for me to have to restore it. Would buying a new HDD count as restoring? Because the one I currently have is fairly small... (400 GB with 100GB free space, if anyone is wondering.) RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - plutomaniac - 12-30-2011 I really need the crash minidump found under C:\Windows\Minidump directory to help you effectively. Can you attach it here? RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - RawkBandMan - 12-31-2011 Okay. Here it is http://www.mediafire.com/?4w5b00l3e8kaj5k RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - plutomaniac - 01-01-2012 The BSOD is caused by the file ctaud2k.sys which is part of Creative Audio Driver (WDM). Make sure you update your audio drivers. RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - RawkBandMan - 01-02-2012 I will repair my audio drivers, and if that doesn't work, I'll update as soon as I get the chance! RE: Amnesia Blue Screens My PC - plutomaniac - 01-02-2012 I must be that. Either way, let us know. |
