Amnesia will not launch - asdfgh - 01-06-2012
Hello.
I've recently upgraded my graphics driver to an AMD 6950 2GB, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent will not launch.
Basically, when I launch the game (through Steam), the screen flashes black briefly before minimizing. Attempting to open the exe through the taskbar shows only a black screen, and afterwards it crashes.
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor (3.20 GHz)
4GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
I'm also running AMD Catalyst 11.12.
As mentioned before, I have the game on steam.
Things I have done in an attempt to fix it include:
Verifying game cache through Steam
Updating (and rolling back) the latest drivers
Running in compatibility mode and as administrator
Included in this post are the hpl and the launcher .log files, help would be much appreciated.

remove any compatibility mode and also do a fresh install of the latest catalyst. You may have corrupted drivers. So: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-11183.html and go to question 3

Sorry, but that didn't work. Would it be an openGL issue with the card/driver?

Well, it cannot load the graphics card. Try Windows XP compatibility but I don't think so...

Actually, the problem was ATI tray tools. Disabling it allowed Amnesia to launch. Thanks for helping out though.
