Although to be honest, I have to say I am looking forward to Acies mod he is making: Spacies, and The Hands Resist Him, as well as our mod we are developing which will be a remake in Amnesia of Resident Evil 2 that I cannot wait for us to finish xD

Most of the good ones have already been suggested, so I'll tell you one that isn't scary but it is very unique and really fun to play:
Platform Perils. It's a platformer in Amnesia, and it is awesome.

Ha. Probably shouldn't bother replying since I've only played 2. Just knowing there are some out there that I wouldn't consider very serious (chocked full o' jump scares) and use of what I'd consider ridiculous props and characters (well, over-use of said things) - that makes me apprehensive to start downloading a bunch of CS.
I've played 'The Great Work' and I'm currently playing 'Tenebris Lake'. I haven't finished TL yet so maybe it's too early to say, but so far I think I prefer 'The Great Work'. It has a few bugs in it but the story and scare factor are very good! I'll definitely have to research some more on what are good and serious mods/CS.
eta: I suppose I shouldn't really say one is better than the other. They can be good in their own ways. I did have a few sudden moments of danger with Tenebris Lake... Making me want to run for my life. In The Great Work I don't think there were sudden moments of danger... You kind of always expected them, but they LASTED a long time... Those moments where you had to be very careful.
eta2: Duh... I'll read this topic for some suggestions. I just hope the ones most people like aren't silly mods/CS.

So far I have played 20 Custom Stories and Total Conversions. Here is a list of them in order of how I enjoyed them. Sometimes I couldn't decide what's better, so some "places" are shared between 2-3 different modifications. And, please, do remember that's it's only a personal opinion, so it's fine to just ignore my tastes.

Not sure why, but I didn't enjoy White Night as much as everyone else has. Definitely worth the playthrough, but there were just little things that didn't work for me.
Best one I've ever played is The Great Work. I enjoyed it more than most of TDD and all of Justine. The area involving locking a monster in a hallway using padlocks was just brilliant. I always have a playthrough going for this and make time to play it. Only thing I hated was that the black powder was annoying for me to find, but some of this frustration was alleviated when I saw that Markiplier had the same issue lol.
Tenebris Lake deserves an honorable mention. The Great Work had better atmosphere and story, but TL was the only time in playing Amnesia that I let out a little scream. The mines were similar to TDD's prison level in some aspects but the disappearing body bumped the tension up so much, even if I did admittedly see it coming.

To me, I think Madness CH03 Demo, the best trolling map ever ! Very funny at somme moment with the modified mobs and the penumbra's infected ^^

I agree with this gentleman, although I don't seem to like any mod that much.
