About custom textures... - SonOfLiberty796 - 02-13-2012 yeah, I don't know how to create them. At all. I'm seriously confused about what I need in order to make a texture, and yes I've searched all over the forums to see if there were tutorials or anything else that'll be helpful but with no go. I need someone to help out a fellow noob here :/ I want to create custom textures, but I'm really confused on what I need (photoshop etc.), what I have to convert and so forth. Please help! RE: About custom textures... - Your Computer - 02-13-2012 DevIL supports many image formats. For performance reasons, DDS is preferred due to its mipmap support. Download and install the GIMP and download and install the GIMP DDS plug-in. Then when saving your work, save with the DDS file type. Then a little dialog will pop up, pick DXT1 for compression, and make sure mipmaps is checked. Then if you want the game to use it, you make a material file for the texture. |
