I just hope there will not be any law issues with Lexicon and they won't scrape things up.

Oh....I am so disapointed...SadI loved this game and was anticipating a trilogy...What else can we do to support you and convince you to release a 3d episode?

The game is a masterpiece!!And NEEDS 3 episodes...But i guess we are lucky we ll even play a 2d episode right?Pity...

This incident between frictional and lexicon reminds me of the awful situation with Piranha Bytes and Jowood...First they release a half finished game and then they stop cooperating before they release a patch that corrects the bugs...I bought Gothic 3...started playing it and after 1-2 hours i uninstalled it permanently...I guess Jowood and Piranha doesnt give a damn since i bought the game in the first place......

Please release a 3d episode..Penumbra deserves it ...And we funs deserve it even more...Smile

Let's hope Black Plague last 16 hours (or more, hopefully) of gameplay! Tongue 'Cause it would be 8 hours per Episode and so go on... Wink

It'll probably be around 10 or 12 hours. Of course, the levels are probably going to much easier to make than caves (a box-like room is much easier to make than a tunnel-type room)

Who's saying that we're not in the caves anymore? Wink

A game made up as it went along?... Yes???.
Originally hailed as having “future episodes”, according to the Penumbra Overture Instruction Manual, then hyped as “three-part horror” according to the official website, Meaning that it would be a supposed trilogy, claiming that it was based of three episodes... then totally (Fails to Deliver).
Who’d have thought?...

Even if Black Plague is made longer that Overture, the game will be completely unbalanced.
Sorry but it sounds like a bit of a brain-fart to make a game like that.
Don’t get my wrong I’m still really looking forward to Penumbra: Black Plague, but I think it’s incredibly inane that it’s not being made into a trilogy, the way it was originally broadcast.
I hope that at least the game will go Gold edition, and be released in a single game, with Overture and Black Plague fused together.

As they said in the first post, it's almost impossible to release 3 episodes and make money off of it, due to *EDIT false information* fucking them off or something.

So you tell me: Should they spend almost 2 years and gain nearly no profits or worse, or make some profits worth their time by only making 2?

The story is going to be condensed. Episode 2 would have been more of a 'filler' of a type, with the storyline pressed thin. If you mix episode 2 and 3 into a single episode, you get a more action packed style of game.

I edited WindexGlows post because it contained fictions of his own imagination.

To remove any doubt of what company that was the problem I say it again, Lexicon Entertainment, that's it. No other company involved with Penumbra: Overture, either sub-licensee of Lexicon or any of the online publishers, have done anything but good for this game.

The problems with Lexicon led to us not being able to continue working on Penumbra: Overture. However, thanks to a new much more solid deal with Paradox Interactive we are able to continue working on a new Penumbra game. It will end the story started in Penumbra: Overture as well as tell it's own story suitable for those that have never played Overture to begin with.

That's how it is, no other strange things or bad profits and so forth are the reason for the change, it's a plain good ol breach of contract done by one company to wreck havoc on all others involved.

But spreading rumors is oh-so-fun! (btw, delete my topic on my mod, The Shaft. Still working on it, it just has a slow discussion to it, and not enough is done to show work. Website will eventually be public)

What improvements will the engine engine have? Any major improvements for modding?
