Penumbra: Black Plague crashes when loading a certain area. - TheWolvesofShadows - 05-30-2012

It is about an hour or less into the game, Every time this event happens where this voice says "Life...Philip...Here" I get transported to the alternate reality. When it is loading the screen just goes black. And I get this error and within the crash information it says EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. What I should do. I get this Is this a problem with the settings.cfg? I'm pretty sure my video and sound cards are up to date. Also, I should note that I am doing a let's play for this game and had a recording software running called PlayClaw. Is this part of the problem? Please help!

In order to help we need the file HPL.log from the Penumbra folder at Documents and detailed system specs, especially when it comes to the graphics card.

How do I use this? Do I have to buy a new graphics card? Will this program fix the problem? Please explain more.

Download it and run it. It should tell you whether you need to update your graphics card drivers. So I suggest updating your drivers.
