Megalodon Discussion Thread - The Rock Worm - 09-05-2012

Here you can talk about anything Megalodon related including: megalodon in media, shark tooth finding adventures, megalodon survivle, megalodon vs [fill in the blank], or whatever!

To start things of, I have two questions:

1) Do you think a deep sea Megalodon would be good in a future Frictional Games Adventure?
2) Of all the Megalodon size formulas, I do not understand Kenshu Shimada's formula, can anyone explain it/give an example?

Haven't you already made a thread about this?

The other thread is JUST Megalodon Survivle, this is about everything relating to Megalodon.

I think the problem with many of your ideas for monsters in games is that they're all just too unrealistic or huge.

You've seen a "Jaws" movie recently haven't you? the reason why this wouldn't work in a game is the same it hasn't worked in the movies: the monster itself would be unrealistic; Most situations to confront the monster would also be unrealistic and more likely will involve making the protagonists brain-dead idiots.

It just doesn't work.

Sorry.

If you've read Steve Alten's MEG, then it could work. Provided that your character is in a sub for the gameplay. As far as realism goes, by looking at real sharks we can evaluate what a MEG would do vs a minisub! So it could work if done right.

Any comments on the size formula?
