Scariest movie scenes. - Danny Boy - 01-10-2013

Hey. Here you can share a movie scene that you have found to be the scariest you have seen and tell us why!

I'll start off whit a scene from "2001: A Space Odyssey"

I find this scene completely terrifying since I was young Tongue. Saw the movie for the first time when I was very young (And didn't even fully understood what the whole movie was about at the time). This scene has a great mystery atmosphere and tension building! The contact between men and their uplifter is a truly unpredictable one as the viewer is not fully sure what will happen! The lack of "comforting gore" is another startling theme to this scene, for it lets the imagination the fill the space!

Overall is one of great scenes in cinematic history! And that music playing in the background simply seems to stay on the back of your head even after the video is over!

I saw this when I was around ten. I remember that it impacted me quite strongly, since I identified myself very much with the young boy in the movie - we were about the same age if I recall correctly.

I don't have that strong memories of being scared again, and as time went on I became more and more desensitized. At some point horror movies stopped being scary. But then; Ah the blessing of playing Amnesia and other horror games! Scary feelings was found again!

The scene didn't seem that scary to me when i watched it, but i had a nightmare the very next day where there was this same mule standing right next to me and staring me in the eyes.

that dream really got me good, i was actually afraid to go to sleep the day after the nightmare
