Backup Moderators - PutraenusAlivius - 08-08-2013

Hey guys. As you guys can see, trolls are now upon us. Some guy named Niko Bellic is posting goatse everywhere with no moderator online. I propose Backup Moderators. These are moderators that takes the duty of the Mods when they're offline so we don't need to wait for a mod/admin to come and ban the troll.

Support me? Vote on the poll.

Very good idea! I am at work and when suddenly a picture like this appears... yeah.

We will ban you. You will not do this again. Mark my words. We will find you.

RE: Backup Moderators - Kreekakon - 08-08-2013

That's basically the same thing as having another new moderator that simply "happens" to be online when the others aren't. Not really different from having just another moderator. It's basically impossible for there to be "mods" on the site around the clock, and even more difficult to have ones proper judgment if we really do pass this "temp mod thing".

Also, guys as amusing it may be to poke the troll with a long stick, and see how he squeals, I have to say I do not support it at all. If a troll is online, and there are no mods to rid of him, just ignore him, and carry on with our own business. When a mod comes online they will sort it all out.

This way we can lessen the amount of "clean-up" work the mods will have to do when they come, and have an overall less-cluttered forum functioning normally as it before they do come clean everything.

I'm not so sure. Backup moderators sounds quite complicated from a technical view. How do we separate them from the other moderators and how do we decide when a backup moderator is "on duty"? From what I've seen there isn't really a need for this. I'd suggest increase the number of moderators but from my perspective there isn't really a need for that. I think the moderators we have do a great job and they have the main vote in this. The recent troll is more of an isolated incident. And it's very difficult to have someone constantly babysitting the entire forum.

Not for me. I'm always online except family occasions. But that's the case because it's the opposite time zone.

EDIT: I think to distinguish Regular Mods and Backup Mods is the text under the name. The Posting Freak text should be changed to Backup Moderator.

RE: Backup Moderators - Nice - 08-08-2013

then again, you have to choose a moderator and not everyone should be one. If there was a next moderator i'd imagine it would be either Bridge or Robosprog, idk those 2 always strike me serious and mature for a job like that Smile

No offense to other members, i love you all
