If by terrible framerate you mean stuttering then try this and follow the steps mentioned there: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-22916-post-260275.html#pid260275

Are any of the patches mentioned so far in this thread usable by those hoping to enjoy this game on a Mac?

Not yet. I guess you could try just changing the .cfg file with the new sound settings but I doubt it will do anything without the fixed executable together.

I agree with pluto; changing the .cfg file helped a bit but nothing more. I'm looking forward to a patch to test on my mac.

I'd like to confirm that this does work for me and my setup. I started by re-installing the game to have a fresh unmodified game, I then ran it once from the Launcher to let the game make the "Amnesia" folder under "My Documents". Initially after applying the patch it stuttered for me a few times but it was because I had Vsync and Adaptive Vsync ON. After turning them off I exited the game to my desktop then ran it again and made a new profile. After all that it finally seems to be running stutter free. Big Grin

That's great, can more people verify that the latest stutter_fix works for them as well?

Tried Catalyst 13.4, unsurprisingly it did not change a thing. I am still playing "Amnesia: A Stutterfest for Pigs"

Tried this of course too, i.e. the settings that Jens posted (which are also in the stutter5 fix).

Tried that out, the stuttering is extremely rare now. Thanks!

It is important to follow the steps I mentioned though. Did you follow the steps as well? I am just trying to be sure, not get on your nerves! Smile

Yes. Big Grin

I have followed the steps posted by you and Jens. Numerous times actually. The stuttering has improved, but it is still there.
