Alternate credits music - wretch - 09-12-2013

Go to *aamfp folder*/sound/music and listen to the "music_credits.ogg" file. Has anybody heard this in the game? I recall the "end_credits_song.ogg" file playing instead, which is a completely different song.\

Do they both play in the credits and I just forgot it, or did I just find a piece of unused content?

RE: Alternate credits music - Ashtoreth - 09-12-2013

I posted about this in another thread, I think it's Jessica Curry singing. Smile

It's probably just a piece of unused content, I don't recall listening to it with the end credits either.

RE: Alternate credits music - Elwi - 09-12-2013

Maybe this is song for secret ending. There are some unused audio files for another ending with different dialogue. But i think that files are just from another version of a game,or a small bonus,to be honest. But "Dear Esther" contains some symbolism, small secrets.Hard to se ghosts etc...so who knows.Maybe its something in MFP too. That would be great

(I'm talking about new Dear Esther, not the original one,so im not sure if they are same, sorry)

RE: Alternate credits music - Googolplex - 09-19-2013

The original credits song is the worst of all I ever heard in a game.
I will change the song in my own patch. Hopefully FG will use a more "emotional" or melancholic song instead of this babble. Credits are very important to give a final impact of the game and the music totally ruined it.

Seriously? I found the song ... quite fitting.

Spoiler below!

After the machine goes down with a whimper, the world moves on into a new century and you can hear the pigs sing their celebrations. They have already forgotten or not even really taken notice about what was about to happen to them. Let them blissfully slither into the chaos which the machine predicted.

Can you tell me where the redist folder is? I can't find it in the games directory. I have only the normal sounds folder and there is no alternate credits song...

Are you using Steam? If so you don't have a redist folder, all files are in game folder >sounds

The song actually seems to be a light-hearted recap of Mandus' life.

I loved 'When I was a Laddy'. I thought that the happy tune contrasted well with the lyrics and fit well with the general atmosphere of the game. I applaud those that came up with it. I love the whole soundtrack and bought it fairly soon after beating the game.

I went through all the music files and the ending song always the same. Except, well, one with chorus and one with just a female singer. This difference you were talking about? Nothing special, tbh.

The only 'special' thing was that Jessica Curry was probably the singer of the alternate version. And it's pretty amusing for that reason.

"When I Was A Laddy" appears to be a jocular reflection on Mandus' life, by the way.
Nope, you guys haven't found it yet. Would be too easy to be in the music folder.
