I know I'm slow on this, but I just realized they were both obviously named after Howard Philips Lovecraft.

Yes, I do! Only makes it worse that I never thought of this.

Wow, I feel so stupid right now. Well, just half stupid, because at least I knew about the HPL engine connection.
