Config file not working and crashes the game! - Radical Batz - 02-27-2014

So I put the stuff of a full conversion mod in my redist folder, and by accident I checked everything so it replaced my config file and now when I open my amnesia launcher, this is what it looks like!

and when I launch the game it says "failed to launch config file" so what am I going to do since it replaced my config file! That means I cannot continue my amnesia cs and I can't play amnesia anymore :'O

You do not run it from the launcher, you run it from a batch file.

It even replaced the entities and all the other files Sad

You're supposed to put it in a folder, WITHIN, the redist folder, similar to:

C:/.../redist/myconversion/

If you haven't done much in explorer, you MAY be able to Ctrl+Z back to what the redist folder looked like, but otherwise you may need to reinstall.

I'm going to do that right now, but I forgot to save my custom story so it';s gone! i had so much maps in there with so much story and scripting! Sad this is the 4th time since I lost a custom story

You should make backups of your work if it's important. I don't see how replacing the game files removed your custom story files though.

Only real way to restore your replaced game files is to reinstall it. Next time, be careful with mods. A mod should be isolated from the main files, but some are not made as well and actually dig into the original files.
