Weird kind of question. - Red - 05-02-2014

I am struggling to find an answer, so i decided to ask if someone knew:
Is there any kind of disease or sickness that makes wounds and injuries unable to heal at all, or at least, make the whole tissue regeneration process much slower?

There's logical explanation for this question: My novel.
So this is nothing personal or anything, i just thought is it necessary for me to create my own disease if there's nothing similiar related.

Yes there is something similar that prevents the blood coagulation so that the wound won't close at all or very slowly.
I'm not sure of the name of the disease though.

Good luck with your novel anyway!

EDIT: Found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haemophilia

Thanks man, it's worth a rep, weird that i didn't remember this, maybe it's because it hasn't been such a big thing in anything.

Well aids (HIV) literally destroys your immune system and after a long period of time (years) you are unable to get healed from simple illness like cold and you die.

Other than that I don't know.

Haemophilia is a good choice, but be aware that it is a group of hereditary genetic disorders. In other words you are born with this disease.

You could also look up hemotoxin. It's more of a venom than a disease though.

necrosis /ne·cro·sis/ (nĕ-kro´sis) pl. necro´ses [Gr.] the morphological changes indicative of cell death caused by progressive enzymatic degradation; it may affect groups of cells or part of a structure or an organ.

Although that when tissue literally dies on its own.

Not always. Necrosis can also happen by cell death by trauma.

EDIT:
By the way, don't google Necrosis pics.

@SomethingRidiculous
Thanks! I wasn't going to, but your edit used reverse psychology on me and I googled it...

Did you threw up like I did?

Lime disease and diabetes also produce slower healing. Malnutrition, too.
