I wonder if these images show the construction of the film's monsters/creatures:

Has anyone ever seen the movie The Abyss?

Thought I'd bring it up because it has the whole underwater theme to it, and it was a pretty good movie too.

As far as I can remember, I haven't watched it yet.

But it has been cited by Thomas as one of the sources of inspiration for SOMA; see this post.

Oh, I forgot they mentioned that, thanks for the reminder.

Also, this next thing I want to mention is not really a movie (but was adapted into one) but has anyone ever read the book "Sphere"? It's also one of those stories about isolation under the sea like The Abyss, but I think a little more in SOMA's direction.

Good observation! Jens actually mentioned "Sphere" as one of the inspirations for SOMA:

Jens Wrote:Science fiction beneath the surface, makes us think of Jules Verne - is his works an inspiration?

"Yeah, possibly," says Nilsson and chuckles. "Maybe a little bit. I think the biggest, if we take like movie inspirations then, of course you have The Sphere and The Abyss. Those are our sort of movie inspirations for it."

You're thinking like a true FG sicko Cool

I saw the movie, but I haven't read the book. I haven't seen it since I was a kid though, so all I remember about it is the actual sphere and Sharon Stone yelling at someone haha.

Haven't read the book either but I loved the film (no idea why it got bad reviews everywhere).

The tweet's from yesterday, so it's today 11pm UTC.

During the twitch broadcast Don Thacker was asked about the release date of Depth. He didn't say anything specific apart from "by the end of 2015". So it comes after SOMA is released?

I hope it doesn't mean that SOMA will be released "by the end of 2015" too... Although it would make more sense for both to be released at the same time. We'll see. Confused

There is a difference between by the end and at the end :3
