Amnesia: The Second Dimension [READY FOR LAUNCH] - MrBehemoth - 09-07-2014

Since A:TSD is now ready for release, I've made a new thread in the Showcase subforum and moved the description there.

I decided to take a week's break from Black Aether to experiment with an idea I'd had, and I made a thing! It's a very early prototype and the map is no where near finished - this is just meant to be a proof-of-concept. Check it out:

Amnesia: The Second Dimension
(working title)

The game mechanics are 75% done, but I've not really started on mapping yet.

It's a puzzle platformer with horror elements, and 2D gameplay in a 3D environment. You will take control of a Servant Grunt in Brennenburg Castle during the events of A:TDD. Whilst tracking Daniel, you'll discover that Grunts are just as scared of Brutes as Daniel is.

Since I'm going to be working on this during breaks from Black Aether, it might take a while. I may recruit a mapper at some point so watch this space if you are interested.

Wow, thanks peeps! I will definitely keep working on it and if it turns out to be a struggle working on two mods at once, I'll ask for help to get it finished... But we'll see how it goes.

This may well be the grunt that captures Daniel and puts him in the jail cell... But as for what happens in the end, I'm not planning on contradicting anything in TDD, so there'll need to be some other final goal than killing Daniel, because as we know that doesn't happen.

Edit in Bold

Seeing as how the game has 3 endings. (Bad / Normal / Good) Respectively... (You die at the last level / You walk out the front door / You help Agrippa)

You can try doing the same thing for your TSD mod.

Very Bad = If Daniel helps Agrippa get through the portal

Bad = If Daniel lives.

Normal = You kill Daniel but die?

Good = You kill Daniel and survive?




Incase you might be thinking of including a player model for Daniel, I think just showing the Lantern moving around will work just as well since it mirrors the amusing fact that Daniel has no body in-game.

That's pretty funny. Big Grin I would use the AMFP Gent though, since it needs the 1.3 patch anyway.
