Repetitive Walls - Naserve - 09-15-2010

Does anyone have any tips on making the walls tile better? When I build a room the walls end up having visible lines where the new wall tile begins.

you add the objects called something with welder in the name, or you can use other tricks such to cover it up a bit such as placing a shelf or a curtain in front of it.

Thanks for the speedy reply Jens. This room is looking a lot better with some welders on the walls.

Really, there's no other solution than just trying to hide it ? I thought that tiles based things were meant exactly for that, for having not to worry about these problems, that the tiles were designed to fit perfectly to each other. If i have to put a "welder" or something else each time i place 2 tiles, it will have a bad effect on the creative side of things..

If you put them correctly there should be no visible line, really. The only time I have needed to use welders to cover up a line was at a convex corner, since the walls simply aren't designed to meet each other that way. Putting walls next to each other should not be a problem though.

Well they are a small team Smile and tbh try turning off the editors lighting, then suddenly you wont really see it. One of the reason you really see it in the editor, is because everything is so bright.

i see the separations in the game when i load my map, and not only in the editor. I followed the tutorial so i used the basic castle tiles, and i can tell you that i see the separation line between two basic wall tiles(no corner, no window, just basic wall). If my word is not enough, i can post screenshots.

Please do, because I haven't had a problem with this. You may be having grid problems.

Ok, here are some screen shots

3 in game and 1 of the editor,

first in game

and the one in the editor, same spot

I don't know if i have those grid problems you are talking about, but i did not change a thing to the editor configuration. Thanks anyway.

I went back and checked closely and noticed that I actually can see the lines in the walls, but they're not nearly as noticeable as yours. It could be partly because your room is so bright, but I think there must be something else to it.
