SOMA crashing on quit, forced to hard boot computer - ShadowBear - 04-24-2017
Whenever I want to quit the game it gets stuck at a black screen and it won't allow me to Alt-tab or open up the task manager, no other way besides forcing the computer to turn off. I have found no fixes anywhere

Hi. Do you connect your PC to the monitor via HDMI? and play the game full-screen?
If so, unplug and plug HDMI cable might solve the problem. I know it's not the best way.
Or you can simply change to the "windowed" mode from the display option before you close the game, and reset to full-screen when you play. I know it's annoying though.

I don't remember if SOMA had a "windowed fullscreen" option, but if windowed mode works without issues, then maybe that's something you can try. It should look identical to fullscreen (only difference is possibly slightly lower performance).
