The Mansion [Working Title] - Tottel - 01-11-2011
For about a week now, I've been working on a map that is heavily based on the house I currently live in.
There is no real story to this map, in stead I would like to offer you an experience based on the 'escape the room' series, but still somewhat in the Amnesia style of gameplay.
The following screenshots show some of the work I have done so far. Some, because half the work I did has gone into scripting. Which I don't want to show because it would be very spoiler-ish.
What you see is the living room, the kitchen and part of the basement.
Furthermore, the map contains a study and an entrance hall I don't want to show yet.
Once I'm fully done with the basement, I'm going to start filling up the other rooms so they look less boring.

I have to study and work for exams and projects at school, so work will be going somewhat slow in the coming weeks. Still, expect some updates soon.

Maybe put the screens in a spoiler tag, cleans up the post.
Without some descriptions your screens really don't tell me anything about your story :/

I like the screens, they look very atmospheric. Not sure why the potbelly wood burner is being ducted into the bookshelf, but it looks interesting. When you start your story, remember that the main character doesn't necessarily have to have amnesia. I think some writers are making too much hard work for themselves by starting their story at this point. There's nothing wrong with providing a rich backstory and a character who actually has some idea of what's going on.
