Right clicking to swing open door - littleghost - 01-16-2011
Hi all!
A friend of mine and myself have the same problem:
we can pick up stuff and throw it but when trying to quickly open/close a door by right clicking it, it doesn't do anything.
We've tried it on both the patched and the unpatched version, yet there was no difference.
Any tips or tricks are welcome.

That's because the door is closed.
What you are doing in the game corresponds, to holding the handle on a door and trying to slam it open, without actually opening it first.
The fastest way to open a door is to click it and then move in the direction it opens.

That is how I am currently doing it but during the first part the hint clearly states "... Press RightMouse to throw the door open or shut, depending on the direction you face." which doesn't seem to work....

You need to hold leftmousebutton first and THEN click rightmousebutton.

i think the problem is that it works like throwing an object, if it is a one way door, and it says pull, you can't push it open from where you are...

Yeah. I figured that out as well.
The best thing is to just use the left mouse button and a quick flick with the mouse instead, otherwise you might end up being chased and not being able to open a door just because you always use both methods until one of them works.
At least, that is my opinion: just get used to using one that always works.

*sigh* Sure do miss being able to shoulder doors open while on the run like in Penumbra
