Divine Comedy -- Dante's Inferno (W.I.P.) - Numerius - 02-08-2011

Hi guys,
This is my first map. Although I do not exactly know how I will deal with other maps (at the end there should be 11 of them - Entrance, all 9 circles, and exit), I am still very ambitious about this idea and hope to earn some support (and I'll need it because I'm yet to learn scripting).
Here is a main logo that will appear in the custom stories window:

And two screenshots of the main gates (images are kinda dark -- in game it is a little brighter):

I'm thinking of releasing a first demo soon -- the one with only basic script, but before it I have to complete the chamber -- it currently misses part of ceiling and a few sections of walls. There is work for one day, but this week is especially busy for me, so I do not think I'll make much progress till pass March 15-20 (I mean I will release the demo, but the work won't be pouring out of me with the speed of light)
So the main story (this is a very rough version) : you wake up in this chamber -- it seems like a dream, but everything feels so real. You cannot recall anything of what has happened to you before. Darkness and cold feeling of pain and sorrow surrounds you and you have no choice but to carry on forward to find out what is this place and who guides you.

!!The first demo is out!!

The idea itself sound very interesting and promising. I'd say take your time and do it best as you can.

The first demo is out, people!
The link is in the first post.
It took me a little longer than I thought and I changed a lot in the map since the first screenshots.
I think in the archive there are two versions of the hall.
The first, main version that you play, is more complete and the one that I am going to finish. Another version is in the folder "Maps" with the same name + number 1 -- this is the first version from which I worked.

I also added new screenshots in the first post.
Note. This map is not meant to be an entertaining one it just sets the tone and starts telling the story which is not ready yet.
Have a good time playing!

I don't understand.

This "DEMO" has a 10 second intro and a bridge with a door at the other end.

I encountered numerous bugs, for example, you can jump off the bridge easily. I found myself climbing up the rocks and getting outside the map, trying to work out what to do, at the door.

I took a dive into the custom story folder and was intrigued to see that there were 3 maps, and I thought maybe there is actually something to play, but it turned out you released two near-identical copies of the same map.

This is definitely not a demo. It's not even a teaser, as the player encounters a fancy loading screen and a big door and that is it.

Maybe release something more? Tongue

Yeah, sorry guys. I should have written it in bold for you.
You see, I don't have a lot of time and I release this one as a concept level.
The thing with the bridge and the rocks is not the bug -- level is not complete.
By the way, about the bridge. Why would you try to jump off it anyway?

That's exactly what I wrote in the post =)

We all start from something...
