Personally last short story was probably most interesting one to read. Gabriel did collide with Brute or Grunt. It also indicates that they are tougher even against bullets.
Also obviously, Englishman was Daniel himself.

The servant's aren't technically alive to begin with, they might be occupying living bodies, but it's the equivalent for them(the entities that inhabit the bodies) of changing into a new suit should the body become irreparably damaged.
It's like being in a body that's rotting around you.
So no a bullet wouldn't hurt a servant an enormous deal

My favorite short story was Gabriels encounter with Mr. Face as well. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of a Mr. Face kidnapping a cat.
