You haven't uploaded the HPL.log but 99% you need to install graphics card drivers which were replaced after the upgrade.

Is that a steam message or game message? If it's a steam one then it's the clients/computers problem. Try executing the game directly from the installation directory, the nonsteam executable.

I don't remember details regarding how many fps or exact settings used as I haven't played SOMA in months and both playthroughs were done with a desktop 660Ti. I only did some quick testing on my lapt...

It's not normal for the Steam file integrity option to not be available. Something is wrong with the Steam installation in such a case.

I don't think there was ever a Requiem demo, it's a short game and mostly for puzzles. I don't know about Necrologue, just that it's a HPL2 full conversion mod and thus free.
