Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion Topic Part 1

the only thing idk is... on moddb they said that amnesia:a machine for pigs was going to launch in august, and so they said that was going to launch at september, and now earlier in 2013??? THE WORLD IS GOING TO END DAY 21 DECEMBER OF 2012. HOW U ARE GOING TO LAUNCH IT AT 2013?

I attended that talk, it was amazing! One of the best talks of GDC Europe in my opinion. (Reading through the comments below, it seems that some people didn't really understand what he meant to say though... -.-) I wanted to ask him about Everybody's Gone to the Rapture but I was too shy to speak English in front of everybody there >.< Ah well...

I seriously think the idea of the game itself came to them while they were listening to Nine Inch Nails. The whole 1994 Downward Spiral LP is about machines and piggies world. I hardly believe this is coincidental. I think this is a straight allusion.

Also there's a very little chance that the whole game is an allusion to the story of the Lord of the Flies character "Piggy". Quite a sad tragic and horrible story by the way. The book itself is somehow about the most horrible sides of human nature - and I think this might be one of the key themes of the game storyline. I don't think there's a straight connection between Lord of the Flies and Machine for Pigs. But... you know... hmm... our subconsciousness sometimes do such a strange things...

That is my thing too, I usually get more excited when something special is coming closer and closer.
