I don't know much else about it. Except you'll need a spacesuit if you want to live out there.

There are several things that affect time. If gravity would be very powerful, it would affect time. That's like time dilation.

And time isn't time, according to relativity.

I'm also launching my very first express to space. Care to join?

Words aren't really helping here.

Sure.

Want to know more about time dilation?

Gravitational time dilation!

What da hell? This thread was so active a few minutes ago, now it's dead. Quick!

RE: Time?

Hell no! I am the scientist, and I will study. With the help of the TMD and the Space Express I launched.

Don't worry, folks. This thread's got technical difficulties.

RE: Time?

This topic has been an interesting read, for sure. My thing with time is that you can't really measure it. Years, months, and weeks are based upon the earth's rotation around the sun whereas hours, minutes, and seconds are based upon it's axial rotation.
It's the whole "relative" thing.
The past is relative, the present is relative, as well as the future.
Time is complex, and I don't care to break it down.

Really, my whole philosophy towards this, among many other things (Where did we come from, what is our purpose, what's in store for the future) is "Don't know. Don't care."
Sure, understanding it may lead to further scientific discoveries. However, talking about time breaks my brain much as philosophy does. (I was asked in High School to compare objects and determine if they were "More or less" real than another. Hated it because real is an absolute.)

It's interesting to see all these theories about how it works, but really, I'll let the theorizing be left to those who know more than I do.

RE: Time?

Time? Is it really that, time again? Big Grin Big Grin

To be serious: If we will possibly have time machines, why don't we still see, why hasn't ANYBODY met time travellers till our present yet?
THAT is the question. *willitblend theme*
