Other great Survival Horror games?

Speaking of Bioshock. I thought System Shock 2 was really scary when I first played it.

More a shooter but aliens vs predator is probably the most scary and intense game I've played. Maybe not scary these days, but when it came out it was a dream come true being able to play a game so close to the experience from the aliens movie.

I have only played a few of the first levels in AvP 2, maybe I should continue.

SS2 is quite scary.

What i've been told is, that the scariest creature, is the one which is not seen.

In other words, it's either invisible or always lurking in the shadows...

I'm awaiting it's release. Looks very promising.

I'm playing through Half Life 2 Survivial Horror mods right now. I found one that is very great, Get a Life (Silly title I know). The mod is more like a real game, It's long, the story sucks, but it's scary.

There is a quite good HL1 zombie mod called They Hunger.

I have also heard that a version for HL2 is coming up!

It is more of a FPS than survival horror I think, but still cool

I have come across they hunger several times while looking for mods. But I have never taken the time to look into it.

Try the Half Life mod Afraid of Monsters: Directors cut. I didn't find it that scary, it's sometimes incredibly hard (Even on normal mode) and it's on the Goldsource engine with no updated effects, so it's really ugly. But it's a really well made and quite Original mod. Check out their ModDB page for some features.
