In Penumbra series, protagonist's name was Philip, and his father's name was Howard; which resembles "Howard Philip (Lovecraft)"
So, in this game? Protagonist's name would be Allan, and his father's name would be Edgar, which could resemble "Edgar Allan (Poe)"

Well, second statement is just a joke, but I know developers like to make some referrals. But and old gothic castle reminds me Poe's stories. What do you think about it?

Isn't it Phillip Beauregard? Anyway, that's probably his mother's last name too, and his father left before he was born, so I believe he would have inherited his mother's name. Maybe Mommy didn't even get married.
