Black Plague Infected "Stuck" (Possible Bug?)

I don't have any specific questions, other than "Is this normal?" If it seems unusual, it might be a bug. Perhaps someone can suggest a workaround.

In Black Plague, I find that the infected opponents appear to "get stuck." I'll explain what I mean by this. Recall when you get the syringe from the cabinet, hear the noise, and are prompted to hide - then one of the infected enters the room. This is early in the game.

The walkthroughs that I've read suggest that he'll come in, take a look around, and then return to his patrol route. That never seems to occur for me. He comes in and stands there FOREVER. I've literally left the game for a half hour, just hanging out behind that desk, waiting for the infected guy to leave. He never does.

The reason I wonder if it's a bug is because every 10 seconds (or so, guessing here), I notice that the infected model has a one or two frame "jitter" where he looks like he's going to do something, but then presumably changes his mind.

Can anyone comment on whether or not that's normal?

I guessing that I'm about 3/4 the way through the game, and I find it's pretty common behaviour for the infected. Most of the time it hasn't been a big issue - I find tricks to get by. But now I'm coming up from the kennel, and there's no way around him that I can identify. So here I am... Looking for advice.

If it makes a difference, I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.4 on a 20" mid-2007 iMac - 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, Radeon HD 2600 Pro.

Thanks everyone!
