RE: Music doesn't resume after enemy despawns
I'm thinking of just making it a sound effect played on the player. I did that in another level where the piano begins playing Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement, but the sound effect is being played from the piano entity. When the player does something to trigger an event where the lights turn off and a hallucination enemy spawns, the sound effect changes to Moonlight's 3rd Movement, which is more intense and energetic.
You can here the songs throughout the level. Not sure if that will cause resource problems tho. Pre-loading the sound would help tho.
Just tested this out and it works perfectly.
