Music won't stop playing

I am having a problem where music, I believe its music that's suppose to play when a monster is chasing you, will not stop playing, It makes no difference how long I'm in the game, if I go to different zones, or reload the game. I have tried uninstalling the game and re-installing the game, yet the music still plays when I start my game. I am playing the steam version on windows 7. Any help to solve this would be greatly appreciated.
