Question  about the end

I have finished playing the game but I have some questions in my mind. I d like to know what will happen (or happened) to Phillip after sending the e-mail.Did he die there?did he managed to get the hell out of the base?Or should I think like this: Philip must have died because the Tuurngait should know about the e-mail Phillip sent.but as he is not infected (anymore) (unlike his father) how can it be that he is killed by something not visible?please help me before I go crazy.
