RE: The (Least) Favorite aspects of your culture.

Of course i'm serious, no one is more productive or relaxed because of Iphone apps lol..they might be fun but they are mostly just that - toys and status symbols. IMO many are just further ruining their already limited, sad attention spans. I remember working with 20 year olds who thought there was something wrong with me because I could sit for five minutes on my break without doing anything - to me that's the sign of someone who essentially has technology-induced ADD lol, it shouldn't be hard for someone to relax, or to focus on a conversation or something without needing to dick around on their Iphone etc., yet I see it all the time, and then they try to justify it by pretending the Iphone serves some really important practical purpose in their lives.

Just admit it, they are toys..at least then you can be honest about what you want to do with it. As a gamer and person who loves fun, i can respect simply doing stuff for fun..but I hate claiming that what amounts to an obsessive habit for many serves some kind of useful purpose.

Not saying they are bad, hell you can look at porn and play games, make music, listen to music, whatever you want..the technology is really amazing, but IMO what most people do with it is an abject, total waste of time disguised as something productive, or meaningful communication.

I suspect the number of people who actually improve them themselves due to Iphone apps and not other things is probably roughly equivalent to the number of people who lose and keep off weight by following fad diets, and the number of people that actually use their home gym equipment they bought to stay in shape.. that is to say - very few.
