Amazing! also, did I miss out?

Finally decided picked up both Penumbra's and Amnesia during the steam sale. I started with overture, then black plague and last night finished amnesia, and I have two things to say.

1. As a huge fan of horror movies and games, I am ashamed of myself for not picking up these great games earlier, these beat out every horror game I have ever played, I haven't been so freaked out by a game since Silent Hill 3, and I was 12 when I played that.

2. Frictional, you have made a fanboy out of me, because you did it right. Unlike so many other games and movies, you not only setup an excellent atmosphere, you actually had good pacing! Keeping the tension and scare factor from start to finish. Whereas Dead space for example, while fun, doesn't have good pacing and ends up feeling like little more than a shooter after about 2 hours. So for that, I thank you.

As for the did I miss out part of the title, at home I have my dads computer which can run the majority of games at near max settings. However, I am currently at school and have to suffer with using a laptop for gaming, It didn't bother me much for the Penumbra's, but for Amnesia I had to turn a lot of the settings to low or off. I still enjoyed the game immensely, but I can't help wondering how much of a difference it would make to the game if it was played at max settings. I plan on replaying the game soon, or checking out some custom stories, I just wonder if it would be worth it to wait a while until I get home to play for a better experience.
