Amnesia crashing after selecting new game

I am planning on buying this game, but downloaded the demo to ensure that it worked on my laptop, which at the moment it doesn't. It always crashes when I select start a new game and then I'll either hear the first few lines of dialogue or just see the loading screen and then it will crash. I read the post about updating my drivers and I followed the steps to update them (well I think I did) but it still doens't work. Any logs you guys want me to post to try and help diagnose it?
