Penumbra will not start...

Hi, so I bought the Penumbra Collection and went to play it on my PC but it won't start! The installation went all good, I think, but when I click to play Penumbra an 'SDL_app' window appears with a white screen, then my screen flickers black and nothing happens... apart from my comp freezing.

Details:
- Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
- AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card
- And yes I meet above the minimum requirements for this game
- I have installed OpenAL and this game is patched to 1.1 by default

I have read through almost every thread on these forums and NOTHING has worked... I've tried re-installing, uninstalling, moving directories, fullscreen, windowed, editing the default_config, all that stuff but nothing works! PLEASE PLEASE help as I will be mad if I find out I just wasted my money
