Racism. Up until the 90s Icelanders clung desperately to the idea that we are "purebred" genetically incorrigible Aryan people even though the original settlers were Norwegian/Irish and, if you want to go way back, Ethiopian. Then around 2009-10 the Icelandic population treated the Polish immigrants that came here during the crash with a lot of disrespect (and still do, to some extent). It's pathetic.

That's sad. Seems like racism is almost impossible to get rid off. "Sverigedemokraterna" makes me ashamed of being proud of my country.
