I remember Dan saying in the 1st may Q&A that there would be other npcs besides monsters.

Yeah, but I doubt there'll be any direct contact.

Maybe people fleeing from the monsters or Oswald Mandus himself.

Yes you are but it has his idea to put people through the machine.People might run away from Oswald thinking that he's after them.It's just my theory.
