Crash and Burn

Every time I try and get through the final strange door in the incinerator area (after Red "checks out"), the game crashes to desktop, 100% time. I have the error log.

In an attempt to fix this, I used the 1.1 specific patch.

Now, the game asks me for a serial #.

This is a problem as I downloaded the entire set through steam. No serial # in any email from valve or steam (I checked junk/trash/ect).

So what now ?

I forgot to mention before Mac OS X 10.6.4, MacPro, ATI 4870HD.

OK, I revalidated the game content and it launches - but I get the same crash.

What am I missing ? if I cant fix this, is all that is left the final text ? If so, can someone post it so I can read it ?
