Linux Patch

It seems my question was misunderstood in the "I want a Linux Version" thread, and it was since closed.

What I would like to know is if there will be a patch available for Linux. So that I can install my windows boxed version on Linux (like id software did with Quake 3 and 4)

or maybe the installer from the demo can be hacked up to work for the retail version?

No, at the moment nothing like that is planned.

well then, two more questions:

1.) if I buy the game online, will I have access to both the Linux and the Windows version?

2.) It seems unlikely, but will I have access to download the game online if I buy a boxed version?
