Advanced help needed

I began delevoping just over a month ago I think and I would like to move into more complicated stuff. I've seen people importing models (monsters, textures, statics, entities, etc.) and I really want to learn how to do that. I tried downloading their custom stories and studying scripts and everything but I still don't know how to do it. So if anyone knows how and has the time to somehow give me some instruction of some kind I would be overjoyed. Or if you know a website/video that works well for instructions you could link me to that. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Importing other people's models to your story, or making your own?

Making my own, or taking it from another game entirely
