Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

today when I tried to play Amnesia and it won't launch I keep on getting this box saying (preparing to launch Amnesia The Dark Decent....) coming on the screen and nothing happens! does anyone know whats going on? like it worked when I first used it at my friends house :/

Sounds like Steam is having trouble launching the launcher (possibly due to an incomplete installation). Have you tried verifying the game cache? Steam > Library > (Right-click) Amnesia: The Dark Descent > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.

I started it a few moments again and it came up with error code 83 now when I try to play it

Are there any programs, like firewalls, preventing Steam from performing its work on your system?

I haven't got alot of those programs it keeps on coming up as code 83 :/ and it worked properly at my friends house
